Band contest! The Tri-Village Junior High Band had their contest on the 11th. We had been practicing for months for this event. Unfortunately, we didn't get the best rating. We still did good! We got a II. V was the worst and I was the best.

Happy birthday! Nick's birthday was the 22nd. That was a very good day! First, though, I have to explain something. I had been wanting one of those Game Boy Advances and Mario Kart - Super Circuit to go with it. I wanted to be able to play against my buddies (they all have one) on the bus because it is such a long ride. So, Mom decided to tell my Aunt Dixie about it. It was a possibility that I could get at least the game for my birthday. I would have to buy everything else myself. Now, back to Nick (you'll see how this all ties in here in a minute). We went over to our Aunt Dixie's house to celebrate Uncle Terry's and Nick's birthdays. It came time for Nick to open his presents. Well, Dixie came out with a few small packages. She said that they were from her, Uncle Terry, Grandma, and Grandpa. One turned out to be for me, and one for Jenny. Now, by looking at the size of the packages, I had a hope that it was an Advance, but I seriously doubted that was what it was. We opened them. It was an Advance! We all got one! And, because it was Nick's birthday, he got a game (Mario Kart - Super Circuit). He also got two link cables so we could all link up and play each other. We sure kept busy the rest of the night! :)

Geek fest! At least, that is what Dad calls it, anyway. At the church, we had another lock-in on a Friday night (May 31, to be exact). I took two computers over, and a few other people brought four more, giving us six to network together to play games against each other on. On those we played games like Starcraft and such. Next, we had THREE Playstation 2 consoles there. That was awesome! We play games like ATV Off-Road Fury, 007 - Agent Under Fire, and Final Fantasy X (my favorite). That was cool, too! We also had two Nintendo 64 machines for Mario Kart 64 and the like, and one Playstation for Madden '99 or whatever. We didn't spend all of our time playing video games, though. We went outside at about three A.M. (we didn't sleep at all) I had brought my potato gun so we were firing that off for a little while. We also played Capture the Flag for a few hours. Then we went back inside for more video games. At about five or so we all got together and played a game where the leaders read quotes from the Bible. We would have to answer who said that, like Paul or John. We did that for about forty-five minutes, then played more Capture the Flag. Last, we played video games until we had to tear down, which was at about eight. We had about eighteen people there, so we had a pretty good turn out. All of the pizza and stuff we had there got eaten. That made clean-up nice!
