September, 2000

This month we went to school and figured out our schedules and everything. Now it is just routine.

We have (Mom, Dad, and I) have been attending Dart ball practice every Monday (let me explain). Okay, there is a really big dart board on the wall. Let me draw something ...

DartBall Board

Okay, this board (actually, one better looking and not crooked squares) is hung 20 feet away from you. Then, you underhandedly throw a dart at this board. The rules are just like baseball. If you hit an orange O area, you are out. You are allowed 3 Strikes (gray) before you are out. If you hit 4 Balls (blue), you walk. A red SH means all runners on base go forward one, but your man is out. Red DP is a double play. The 1 means you hit a single, 2 a double, 3 a triple, and of course, HR is a home run. You are allowed 12 fouls before you are out. If everyone hit a foul over and over and over and over, the game would never end, so you are only allowed 12. Most of the churches around here (including ours) has a team and board. Then we go around and have Dart ball tournaments. Since this is my first year doing it I do not really know how the tournaments work. Either way, it is pretty cool.

We went to West Virginia this month for a weekend. Dad was thinking about buying some land out there. Mom (and the looks of the land) made Dad change his mind.

This month I also formatted my hard drive to start anew. It was all clogged with junk it had to be done!

Right now I only have about 300 words right now. I still need about 200 more.

I have been reading a lot of Hardy Boys books lately. I like those books. I think they are really neat.

Did Nick tell you in our last newsletter that one of our hens has hatched her second batch of chicks this year? If he did not tell you, I will. She had 6 chicks. They are getting bigger now. They are not very tame, though.

I wish Dad had not said that we needed 500 words. That is too much!

Oh, well. The fish have not been biting lately. They have been getting bigger, though. We have gone out in the boat, have not had much luck there, either.

School has been simple. I have not really gotten any bad grades. They are mostly As. I am glad.

My brother and I ordered some computer games. They are Star Wars: Rouge Squadron 3-D; Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer; and Star Trek: Starship Creator. Starship Creator is neat. I have not been able to get the other two to work. That is a bummer.

Mark Bevins and I have been planning to have a lock-in at our church. We will invite some people at church to attend (mainly youth) and have someone bring in a Nintendo 64 and games. Then after we do stuff outside, we go in and have playing matches. Then we sleep and do it some more in the morning. We will also have all the pizza we want.
