May, 2001

Not to much happened in May.  There are a few things that happened, though.  Things such as Nick's baseball team and treir opening day this month.   We all went down to the ball field at the school and watched Nick's team play.   Nick plays 3rd base most of the time.  Sometimes he plays other positions.   Either way, though, they didn't do to good.  I got hit with the ball, also.   A throw went over the 1st baseman's head and hit me.  That wasn't fun.   After that I got up and left for downtown New Madison.  You see, my 8th grade class is going on a trip to Chicago, Ill. this fall and I was selling candles as a fund-rasier.  I went around and made some sales.  I has sold a bit when I got back.  The cost of the trip was $325. I am at the point now that I now have to pay $11.50 yet.  Mom and Dad we're paying half, and I earned alot and payed some already so that is why I only need $11.50.

Happy birthday!  Nick had his birthday on the 22nd.  My Uncle Terry's birthday is this month, too.  We all went over to Uncle Terry's and celebrated.   We had fun.  They have sattilite over there so we watched some T.V.    We ate cake and sang "Happy Birthday!" and watched Nick open his goodies.  He got a whole bunch of water balloons and a LEGO thing.  Then it got late so we had to go.  We all had fun.

What do you get when you cross indians and Boy  Scouts?  A Cub Scout Crossover!  Let me explain.  There are two groups. The Cub Scouts are for the little boys and the Boy Scouts are for the older guys.  Now, there is a point when a little boy becomes and older guy, so they crossover from Cub Souts to Boy Scouts.   For that occasion the Boy Scouts of Troop 708 do a special ceramoniy.  First, I, as an older scout, along with some others from the troop, dressed up as indians!   I had some lines and was a troch bearer.  Then we go out and do our thing.   Our thing is we act like indians and use a big, loud, indian voice.  We are all seroius and everything.  It is pretty cool.  There was just one problem.   It rained!  We still did to program, but not many showed up.  It was just the little boys who was crossing over and their families.  Also, we had gunpower laid out so we could add some special effects, but it was too wet.  Oh, well.   Everything still went well.

All, sulute!  We had our Memorial service on Memorial Day.  Nick marched with the Boy Scouts.  I was with the Tri-Village Junior High Band.  We went to three towns and played and held a service.  Afterwords we got a snack at each of the places.  I played the trumpet.  It took all morning to do it, but it was fun.

Here's what everybody liked the most.  May 31 -  School's out!  I think evrybody is glad shool is out.  I'm am a little, too, but I also miss seeing everybody.  I got A's in every class for each quarter.  I think I did good. :)
