April, 2001

In April we did many things. My dad got the old 52 Chevy pickup to run. He drove it down the lane then to our grandparents house and back without any brakes. He has been working on it more and more. I got ducks for a 4-H project. They are Indian runner ducks. The drake ( boy ) is black and the hen is white. The hen often lays eggs and one time we found a nest of twelve eggs behind a board and the wood pile. I bought them at the fair grounds in Eaton when they were one year old. We planted 500 Christmas trees in our property. On Easter Mark (brother) got a huge bag of candy including a huge Hershey kiss from his girlfriend Krystal Barton.I got to play baseball. I got to join Tyler Grant's baseball team.My team's names is Spankey's Place. Our uniforms are red. Mark had a trumpet contest at Sidney,OH.He got graded a 2. The highest grade is a 1 and the lowest grade is a 5. Jenny and I had a band concert at Trio-Village Elementary school in the gym. Jenny played the fluteaphone and I play the trombone. Moms birthday was one the 30th this month. Mark and I got her a bird feeder for her birthday. The boy scouts are planning a week long campout down in Tennessee and North Carolina. they are going to Dollywood, Gatlinburg, and many other places. The only problem is that it cost 350 dollars per person and I have to pay 30% of the total amount though. So I would have to come up with 105 dollars. I have over thirty dollars so far. I spent the night at Derrick Chownings house on a Saturday evening. We had a campfire and we spent the night in a tent in his backyard. the next morning I went to church with him and went bowling afterwards at 40 lanes in Richmond. We played three games against another group. The first game we won the second we lost and the third we won by one pin. After that I went home. Dad plated sweet corn and feild corn in the back field. He plans to build a barn back there to. Oh yea, Jenny swallowed a quarter on Easter but it has gone through her body all ready it did not cuase any problem. The cow shed fell over onto its top when the wind was so strong that the wind fliped it over. Dad flipped it over onto the bottom and pulled it by a chain using the tractor. He pulled it all the way to the back of our yard. Mom has gotton to garden tilled and she has started planting her garden. We are soon going to get sand for an area by the pond. Jenny and I had to go out in the water and lay down plastic to put the sand on. We had to make sure that the plastic stayed so we put down rocks on it.
